Mission“The mission of the Halltown Fire Protection District is to protect the quality of life and the property of those who live, work, invest, visit or travel through our community. “

Goal“Provide adequate emergency preparedness to handle a variety of property and life emergency situations using the best equipment, volunteer firefighters and training we can provide. We will maintain and support strong mutual aid agreements to support our mission.”

Vision“We will continue the heritage of our previous Association and improve in providing emergency services to our community.”

We cover 110 square miles of territory centered in 1966 on old Route 66 in the NW quarter of Lawrence County Missouri. We are mostly a residential and farm community, with a few businesses. We do serve a very busy stretch of Interstate I-44 (daily average of >37,000 vehicles per day), highways 174 and 96 (daily average of >5,000 vehicles per day). In 2021 we switched from the 55 year old Halltown Volunteer Fire Department membership based association to a tax based Halltown Fire Protection District. We will continue to embrace the proud legacy of service to our community. The original department was started in 1966 and our first truck was donated by Mickey Owens.

With the caring hearts of our community, companies and organizations, volunteer support will be the key to our success to make it possible for the HFPD to continue assisting the local areas and many travelers both personal and commercial. Halltown Fire Protection District relies tax levy and grants to support the day to day operations of responding to emergency situations.
